The Friends Of Maple Infants
(Registered Charity #1147762)
Thank you for visiting the Friends' page - we are a group of parent volunteers who work to support the school through fund raising and social events. All parents and carers of current pupils at Maple Infants' School are members of the Friends and we welcome all and any contributions from within the school community.
The Friends of Maple Infants is the equivalent of our PTA (Parent-Teacher Association). The Friends work enthusiastically and tirelessly to support social and fund-raising events. Getting involved in the work of The Friends is an excellent way for parents to make new friends and become involved in many aspects of school life.
Since its inception in Autumn 1991, The Friends has raised thousands of pounds, which have been spent on equipment and resources to enhance our children’s educational experiences and the school’s facilities. In conjunction with school fund raising, major items such as the play frames, safe surfaces, and computers have been purchased. Over the years numerous resources have been put into classrooms – books, maths resources, construction equipment, musical instruments and many more to support all areas of the curriculum. Each year the Friends organise a Christmas and Summer Fair, and run many other fund raising schemes and events.
The Friends also exists to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring our community of teachers, staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school. We run a diverse calendar of social events and fund raisers throughout the school year and strive to be inclusive across our programme. We hope that during the school year there will be events that appeal to everyone.
We are always looking for new ideas from parents so please do get involved if you have any suggestions. Please contact the committee via: [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to join us.

Gift Aid: Have you filled in a declaration?
As the Friends is a registered charity, we are able to raise money through Gift Aid. This is tax claimed back from HMRC from donations made to us out of your earned income and can really boost funds for the school.
If you are a UK tax payer, we are able to claim 25p in every pound that you donate to us.
Once we have your Gift Aid Declaration, every time you support the Friends with an eligible donation we get extra cash.
It couldn’t be simpler to do, we ask parents to fill out the declaration form to confirm you are a UK taxpayer, you only need to do it once, and you can cancel it at any time by contacting us. There’s nothing else for you to do and we don’t need any other information from you. Gift Aid is taken on trust and you can support more than one charity in this way. If you are a UK taxpayer, please take the time to download and complete the declaration form below - click on image to download document for printing.
Do you pay higher rate of tax?
If you pay a higher rate of tax you can benefit from tax relief on your donation. Please see the HMRC website for more information https://www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid
Please return completed forms to us via the school office or by email to [email protected].
