As part of the British Value of Democracy, the School Parliament (previously known as the School Council), consists representatives who have been voted for by their peers in every class.
These 18 representatives are in post for a year and meet at least once a half term (but usually more) with Mrs Barwell to discuss different aspects of the running of the school.
Every member wears a "School Parliament" badge so they can be recognized by others and they always lead by example.
What are the aims of the school parliament?
· To make sure that our school is a safe and happy place for children.
· To make sure that children have a place to voice their concerns.
· To encourage all children in the school to suggest improvements.
· To make sure any suggestions or concerns are listened to and acted upon.
Members of School Parliament are encouraged to have an understanding of the decision making processes involved with the successful running of a happy, healthy school.
