At Maple we know how important it is to ensure your child has the very best start to their education. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is critical in developing play and learning skills that will support your child in their future learning journey.

Our Nursery is led by an experienced qualified teacher and experienced EYFS support staff who love teaching young children and supporting them in the prime areas of learning of:

-Communication and Language
-Physical Development
-Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Our recently refurbished environment uses resources supplied by Early Excellence, a leading provider in driving high quality provision and practice in the early years. In addition to our fantastic indoor environment we have an all weather, covered outdoor play space. Nursery also have their own climbing frame and bike track!

Our staff use our enabling environment to deliver an ever changing, diverse and language rich curriculum. We believe we have a duty to respond carefully to the needs of all children and ensure children become independent, confident communicators who are ready for their next step in beginning school in Reception.

Our Nursery pupils are valued members of our school community who join in with whole school celebrations and events. We carefully plan opportunities to support the children in visiting local areas of interest within their community, encouraging them to ask questions and be inquisitive of the world around them.

We know our Nursery children are happy, confident and engaged in their learning, where they can get the most out of every day and every learning interaction. Our staff lead learning, extending and questioning carefully to ensure the children are always leading and developing their own learning and ideas as well as developing their language skills.
Most importantly our Nursery is FUN!  We look forward to seeing you soon!

A message from the Head Teacher

                                                                                      Together we learn and grow

The uniqueness of attending a nursery on a school site is that the children can truly see and experience first hand what it is to be part of a school community and what it means to attend ‘big’ school.  Our journey with the children here begins with our nurturing environment, ensuring that our children feel safe and secure is an essential priority for our setting, as we know that this will enable them to confidently experience the world around them.

Communication also forms such an important part of our learning environment here at Maple.  Our relationship and communication with all of our families is so important to us as our experience tells us that you know your child the best.  We also strive to immerse our children into a vocabulary rich environment right from the start, where they can successfully build on their learning experiences and develop secure relationships and interactions with staff and their peers alike.
Our highly skilled team inspire our young learners to develop a love of learning from an early age by capturing their interest within our setting and using their expertise to guide the children’s learning and development through the early years framework.

Our children amaze us each and every day and it is a delight to see the progress they make, both academically as well as their social development.  As an infant school, we know exactly how to prepare your child for the next exciting step in their learning journey as they transition into Reception, either with us or via another setting.  We also work with you to support you with this journey and the children at Maple leave us with a love of learning, excited and ready for the new adventures ahead of them.

Mrs Barwell
Head Teacher
