Friends of Maple Infants'
|
This organisation was formed in Autumn 1991. Prior to this there had been no PTA and little in the way of fund-raising had been done to improve facilities for the pupils.
Since that time, in conjunction with school fund-raising, we have raised in the region of £50,000. Major items such as the playframes, safe surfaces, computers and the pergola were purchased.
Over the years numerous resources have been put into classrooms - books, maths resources, construction equipment, musical instruments and many more to support all areas of the curriculum. Each year the Friends purchase class Christmas presents, organise a Christmas and Summer Fair as well as many social events. Parents are automatically members of The Friends. The committee work tirelessly and always need your support. Do try to get involved it has proved to be an excellent route for parents to make new friends and become involved in many aspects of school life.
Fund Raising
There is a voluntary school fund. The Nursery fund provides refreshments, cooking ingredients and goes to replacing equipment and improving the resources for the children. The Infants' school fund enables us to subsidise outings, provide some materials on a one to one basis so that children don't always have to share (e.g. Prittsticks). |

We are also able to choose quality resources overall and enrich the curriculum via visiting drama groups and musicians.
Voluntary contributions are collected at the beginning of each term.
Other ways you can help with raising funds for the school:
- Attend as many school fund raising functions as possible and if you can spare any time to help set up, man stalls, promote functions or help clear up afterwards- any help is very welcome.
- Buy your Christmas cards and small gifts from our Christmas catalogue. Your child will bring a catalogue home in the Autumn term. When you buy from this catalogue we get a percentage of the purchase price.
Parent Helpers
Parents are always needed to help in school on a regular or occasional basis. If you have any free time, please volunteer. Help is often needed for a variety of activities such as cooking, sewing, woodwork, mending library books and accompanying outside visits. If you have any skills such as football, IT, art etc. please let us know. |
