Staff

The staff work together as a team and have high expectations of all pupils. We are currently very fortunate in that we have a high level of teaching and non-teaching support.

The Head Teacher and 2 Assistant Heads lead the school and in addition to this most members of staff have responsibility for one or more specialist areas of the curriculum. We have a number of Teaching Assistants who work along side teachers in the classrooms to support the learning of the children. Some have specific responsibility for children with particular special needs and are trained and supported by outside agencies e.g. Speech Therapist, Educational Psychologist. Some may, from time to time, be responsible for supervising classes under the direction of the class teacher depending upon their level of experience.

Governing Body

Governing bodies are responsible and accountable for all major decisions about the school and its future.

Governors have a legal responsibility to conduct the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement. They set the school’s vision and strategic aims, monitor and evaluate performance acting as a critical friend to the headteacher and ensure the school is accountable to those it serves.

The Governing Body take an active part in school life, giving much of their valuable time to endorse the school’s aims and objectives. The Governors are representatives of our school, the local community, parents and school staff. They bring a range of expertise and knowledge to Governing Body meetings and oversee the organisation, curriculum and budget of the school. The governors meet each term and more often at sub-committee level.
