We celebrated black history month this week and sang songs, learned dances and heard a story with Kofi.

We hope you have a lovely half term and will see you back on the 31st October.

An exciting week in Rowan Class

What an exciting week in Rowan Class!

What’s been happening this week? First of all, there was our class assembly. We talked about how we travel to school. Most of us walk, which is brilliant. We also showed the rest of the school what we learnt about transport in the past and how it is different to modern transport. We had a go at imagining what kind of transport we might have in the future.

In ICT and Art we “took a black line for a walk” and created these stunning pictures.

And finally, there was the School Council election. In a closely fought contest, including a presidential style debate, the class elected Jemima and Adam to represent them in the School Council.

Well Done Hazel Class!

Hazel Class had a great P.E. session today. We warmed up to the bean game and really enjoyed the parachute.

Mrs Gough and Mrs Smith are so proud of all the children because they managed to get changed into their P.E. kits and were so well behaved during an exciting P.E. session.

News from Rowan Class

This year, Rowan Class would like to start a regular blog and keep everybody updated about all the lovely things that are happening in our class. Here are just a few things that the children wanted to say about their first week in Year 2:

“I enjoyed learning about how to use different types of letters and colours in Word on the computer. We wrote our names and everybody’s looked different.” (Shiven)

“Having a lovely class and seeing all our friends again after the summer holidays.” (Scarlett)

“If we work well, we get keys for opening the treasure chest. Tractors table was the first to win a prize from our treasure chest.”(Leo)

“Painting pictures to do with our transport topic “,(Jemima) “and also transport pictures on the computer.”(Amelia)

“I really enjoyed PE – doing the different jumps and balancing.” (Megan)

“The transport topic is really exciting.” (Alfie)

“It was fun to order numbers on our caterpillars.”(Amelie)

“We really enjoyed writing our own music using long and short sounds.”(Eve)

Lola enjoyed holding up the class certificate in assembly.

Well done, Rowan Class, for a lovely first couple of weeks! Keep checking back here for more updates on what’s going on in Rowan Class.

Thank you.

Dear Parents

We would like to take this opportunity to say how much we have enjoyed teaching your lovely children for the past year. We cannot believe how fast the time has gone, but as the saying goes, ‘Time flies, when you’re having fun.’

Thank you for your amazing support, we are very proud of all they have achieved. We would also like to say a huge thank you for our cards, presents and especially our beautiful memory book which we will treasure.

Hope you have a lovely summer!
