Help at the Christmas Fair

This year’s Maple Infants’ Christmas Fair is fast approaching and we are looking for help.  Any time you can give will be very much appreciated.

We need help setting up beforehand and clearing away afterwards, and also time helping with the stalls during the event. Class reps are organising rotas for each stall, so if you can give half an hour or an hour, or even all the way through that would be great.

We particularly need additional help with two of the stalls: refreshments and Santa’s Grotto. Also, we need people who can do face painting.

If you haven’t seen your class rep yet, please let them know if you can help in any way on 3 December. The fair opens at 11 am and closes at 2 pm.  We will be opening for set up at 8am for the Grotto.

Kind regards,

Colin, Silke and Jennie

It’s Maple Maths Week 2011!

Maple Infants’ School Math’s Week returns for 2011 – “Math’s is Everywhere, Not Just in Your Classroom.”

There is a different maths theme for each day:

  1. Monday 7th – ‘Numbers, numbers all around!’
  2. Tuesday 8th – ‘A world of shapes and and spaces.’
  3. Wednesday 9th – ‘What shall we measure?’
  4. Thursday 10th – ‘Put your thinking caps on!’
  5. Friday 11th – ‘Questions and Answers.’

And there also activities that span the whole week, see the timetable of main events on the online school calendar.

Don’t miss the parent’s maths workshop on Wednesday 9th at 2:15pm and make sure you enter The Surbiton Math’s Trail Family Challenge and maybe win a mystery prize! Trail booklets will be handed out today!

School lunch is in the diary!

Ever wondered what your children had for lunch? Lost the Cygnet menu sheet again?

Well, now as an experiment for the next half of term we have added school lunch menu into the Maple Infants’ Google calendar.

Yr 2 enjoying their own show.

This morning Year 2 children and staff enjoyed watching a DVD of their own end of year show from yesterday, which they missed seeing, as they were all in it. Well done everyone!

Mufti day this Friday, bring a bottle!

Don’t forget – no uniform required this Friday 17th if you bring a bottle to school for the Summer Fair bottle stall on Saturday 18th.

Estate agent boards for school fair

If you can take a Matthew James estate agent board to advertise the school fair please email me. We have 30 boards so far and usually raise at least £700 each year with this. We get a donation of £15 per board so please help if you can, ask your neighbours too.

Thanks,

Bring Jars for Mufti Day Tomorrow, Friday 10th June

No uniform required tomorrow but don’t forget to bring in a decorated jar filled with goodies for the School Fair jar stall!

Need some ideas? Decorating recycled jars.

Get Baking! Cake Sales Start 10th June

Cake sales start on Friday 10th June and will become a weekly Friday social event until the end of term with teas and drinks also served. Mrs Robinson has kindly agreed to let children play on the equipment – as long as they are supervised by parents.

We will also continue the cake sales into September as a nice welcome back to school and to make the most of mild weather at that time of year.
