Headteacher’s letter about 2010 Ofsted

28th January 2010

Dear Parents/Carers

RE: OFSTED REPORT

I am pleased to send out to you all our official Ofsted Report 2010. Ofsted has recognised many of the good and outstanding aspects of the provision at Maple and, once again, the care, guidance and support we give to our pupils has been graded as outstanding.

As you are aware, our inspection took place on Wednesday 13th & Thursday 14th January. What with the extreme snowy conditions and difficulties the inspectors, themselves, experienced arriving at Maple all in one piece, the inspection, itself, took place under trying circumstances. I think that when one of the children threw a snowball at one of the inspectors we thought our fate was sealed!!

The inspection was carried out under the new Ofsted Framework and it was a rigorous and testing few days for us all. The criteria for high grading has been altered and ‘the bar has been raised’. However, as you will see, the Maple community has cause for celebration and only a few issues to reflect upon and address. I assure you that every possible action will be taken by the staff to continue to maintain and improve upon our high standards over the next few months.

Many thanks for all your positive support and responses to the questionnaires. All comments will be considered and I will be informing you of actions taken as a result in my forthcoming newsletters.

The staff at Maple have worked wonderfully as a team throughout our Ofsted experience and the pupils have been little stars! We have much of which to feel proud!

Yours sincerely,

Liz Robinson
