2 Mufti Days Friday 20 & 27 Nov

Following tradition, there will be two mufti days in the run up to the fair.

On Friday 20 November, children can wear their own clothes to school in return for bringing a jar for the Jar Tombola – a very popular stall! Your child can decorate an empty jar and fill it with sweets, toys or any other little goodies to bring in. For those of you who have been hot on your recycling, there will be plenty of empty jars available from the shed next to the scooter park, nearer the time.

The second mufti day will be on Friday 27 November. In return for wearing their own clothes, each child is asked to bring a bottle for the Bottle Tombola containing cordial, sauce, wine, soft drinks, cooking oils – whatever you wish.

Christmas Fair – 28 Nov

xmasThe major event for the Autumn Term will be the Christmas Fair.

Make sure you get the date in the diary, Saturday 28 November from 11am to 2pm.

Father Christmas will be there in his grotto, there will be numerous stalls selling yummy cakes, toys, crafts, and plenty of games and activities to keep the kids entertained. We will also have a bouncy castle, face painting and lots more!

A meeting was held to discuss planning for the fair and your class reps will be rallying your support over the coming weeks!

Donations

We will be asking for your donations of cakes, unwanted toys and books over the coming weeks, so please keep an eye on the Friends’ noticeboards (opposite Copper Beech, next to the scooter park and in the nursery cloackroom) for dates.

Property sign adverts

Matthew James Estate Agents have kindly agreed to sponsor the event for us. They will donate £15 for each property sign advertising the fair. If you are willing to have a sign put up outside your home (for a 2 week period before the fair) consent forms will be distributed over the coming weeks. They are also making substantial donations towards Santa’s Grotto and the raffle so we can make these a fantastic feature of the event.

Help at the fair

Any help you can give for the fair, either on the day itself or beforehand would be much appreciated – the children love it and even half an hour helps enormously.

The AGM was held on 23 September and a new Committee was voted in.

Firstly, a huge THANK YOU to last year’s Committee for all their hard work and effort over the last 12 months.

The Friends raised a whopping £14,000 for the school and so far have donated to several areas, including £3,000 towards the fencing outside the reception classes and all the outings and external shows the children attended last year.
