A busy week!

I was so pleased that so many of you came along to the Cygnet Food Tasting session on Monday and apologies for this being such short notice. I arrange these tasting sessions from time to time so there will be opportunities for you to come to another tasting session if you were not able to make the one on Monday. The Landirani Assembly on Tuesday was an interesting event as it launched the start of our links with a school in Malawi. Further details will appear in my newsletter as appropriate.

I want to be…? Day on 26th November

As an end to our topic, “People who help us”, Chestnut, Laurel and Silver Birch class are having an ’I want to be …? ‘ day on Wednesday, 26th November. Your child can come fully or partly dressed up (e.g. a fireman’s helmet, ballet dancer etc.) or use school dressing up clothes when they arrive. Please bear in mind that your child will need to sit down and be warm and comfortable throughout the day.

Parent Consultations

The Parent Consultations were very well attended and I hope you found them useful and informative. Thursday evening saw the turning on of the Christmas lights in Kingston and the event kicked off with the Maple Infants’ Year 2 choir! The children performed brilliantly and were a credit to the school!

Cygnet Taster Session & The Landirani Trust Assembly

We always encourage our familities to take up a hot meal option especially during the colder months and it is very positive to see that so many of you choose to do this. As a result we have organised a taster session to take place in the school hall on Monday 17th November at 2.45pm.

Please do come along and enter via the school office. Samples of Cygnet Catering will be available for you to taste and if you want to encourage your child to take up a hot meal offer more often, you will be able to pick up your child from his or her classroom for a little taste also! Please return the slip below if you are able to attend.

Thank you all so much for your kind donations to The Landirani Trust this year at our Harvest Festival, we managed to raise £261.94. Heather Palmer from Landirani is due to visit Maple next Tuesday 18th November at 2.30pm to do an assembly for us. All parents are invited to come along at this time and Heather will be happy to meet you after the assembly.

Last week!

I hope that everyone enjoyed the firework festivities last week and I look forward to seeing you at the Parents’ Consultations on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you are unable to attend, please see your child’s class teacher to book an alternative date.
